The video is awsome! Shocked

Reminds me of a number of years ago when Top Gear did a feature on Ferrari, and some guy had built a 1:12 scale model of a Grand Prix car, complete with fully working V12 motor. He'd even hand-made the tiny little spark plugs!

I'd love to see/hear that again - it even sounded exactly like the full size car!!

How much is your time worth?

If you can do this then your time is worth a huge amount, so spending all your valuable time making jigs and finished parts would make a $600 crankshaft seem very cheap.

Yeah, not to mention the $$ put into the state of the art equipment that guy has. But still, the ego factor would be priceless

We've already run in to a couple of problems with that idea Mat! The biggest issue is the con-rods are too close together to run twin NSR cranks, so you can't get 2 barrels side-by-side on the top and bottom.

Not that we've been looking into how to do it, of course! Wink

Theres a guy on the KR forum who has built a 3 cylinder KR engine... I wonder if a 3 cylinder NSR engine could be made(?) Laughing

Something I'm looking at is putting larger/more modern barrels on the NS400 and increasing the stroke, not got very far yet - just about assembled all the bits. I didn't want to blow a ton of money on something that might go nowhere, so it's taking as while. Once I've got a yes from the relevant people that it is feasible (stroke increase and barrel adaptation) I will be happy to chuck a load of money at it.

Mat.

It was a Ferrari 312PB

15 years in the making?

Sorry it's in real player and terrible quality.

More info.

So good it nearly has to be an April fools joke, truely stunning, the truth really is stranger than fiction.
