Hi guys, I am an NSR virgin (so to speak). I have just aquired an MC18 race/track bike (about 88/89 vintage). Total loss ignition and dry clutch etc. Some parts have HRC on them so I presume are good. It has stock MC18 wheels with (front) 110/70/17 and (Rear) 140/60/18 dunlops on. Braided hoses on the front. Is this the best combination or is there something better????????????? like CBR600 wheels (only as an example) All replies appreciated. You know these machines I don't. Thanks in anticipation. Depending what year '18 you have it will be fitted with either a 140 or 150 rear tyre, If yours is running the 140 then I would try looking for the wider rear wheel off the '89 '18 as this is fitted with a 150 as stock. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
Get the rear wheel off the NSR MC21, and a front of a VFR400 NC30 (or better yet, RS250 GP bike). That will give you a 4.5x17 rear, and a 3.5x17 front, to run 120 wide fronts and 150-160 wide rears...Fairly standard slick sizes.
Better yet... get 2 MC21 rears, have one set with wets, one set with slicks/Rennsports/pilot race etc...
Although Bridgestone still make 18inch slicks and wets
www.racinglinks.co.nz to find some... _________________ The Chopster
