In response to the locked thread, I think it is important to question the products and services of companies on this forum - it is what prevents consumers like us spending time and money dealing with sub-par operations.
But I think the thrust of binkas thread was disappointment with the accuracy of dynos in general, and from someone coming from a profession where +- 20% is usually the margin of error, I look at any plot mindful of reality - so that 60 hp on a dyno chart always means 55-65 to me...so you can forget about seeing those minor tweaks on the chart - that is, unless you want to see them. _________________ '87 MC16
Well StephenRC45 and his Dynojet are good enough for me and most other folk on this forum
If Dynojet,s are so bad, why do top tuners still use them.
How anyone can come on here and question Andy and Stephens work on the pipes they are developing is beyond me.
If Matt from Tyga is happy for stephen and his Dynojet to do some development work on the 300 kit in the UK, what more could you ask for as an NSR owner.
If something is realy bad, then yes we need to know about it. but i,ll put money on that post just being the normal Binka wind people up post. Just like he does on the RD forum
I'm not particalally arsed what outright power it produces as long as the operator is competent enough to make sure the fuelling is as good as it can be which in my eyes is more important than obtaining an outright power figure. _________________ If you dont like the way that i ride.....Stop trying to keep up!!!!!
Clearly only the biggest monkey in the world would compare across dynos or from bike to bike and a slightly less stupid monkey (no pun intended Billy ) would compare fractions of a hp over time.
The only way to truely know what an engine is doing is on the bench in a controlled enviroment, unfortunately this is very expensive, highly impractical and moreover bike engines do not live on benches nor do they sit stationary in still air.
Minor tweaks done there and then can certainly be seen, Steve and I undid and redid a couple of little thing to see the same fractions of hp come and go every time. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I think something that needs to be remembers is that doing back to back runs, the margin of error should be very close. This means that you will be able to put your bike on a DynoJet Dyno, get a bench mark, make some changes, run it again on that same dyno in a short period of time, and be able to see the difference in the changes you made.
If you have your bike run on a dyno at one shop, bring it to another shop a year later and expect to be able to reproduce the same readings then your just missing something up stairs.
Also as a side note. I would NEVER take anything for gospel about how bad a certain product is over another when that information is on the companies website or literature that is claiming they have a better product. It's called advertising and marketing. Politicians also play in this game, and I don't beleive them 99% of the time. _________________ Charles Gallant
Surely we're all bright enough here to know that the only measurement worth it's salt is the relative change - ideally on the same day, certainly on the same dyno. _________________

You're a good man even giving them that 1% Charles!
Ye well that 1% of the time I'm useally piss drunk and I would have beleived most of the crap my x-wife was telling me as well _________________ Charles Gallant

Because he (Andy) is doing the work on MY bike.
It was a personal view, nothing more and nothing less - there's nothing to be made of this to be honest and Jeff is the last person to be able to comment on me. _________________ These aren't the droids you're looking for.
