Removing push rod fromt he rear brake master cylinder

Sun Apr 09, 2006 6:32 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi, I just bought a set of rear sets and it requires the removal of the push rod from the rear brake master cylinder and replace with theirs. I am having trouble getting it out. It does not seem to want to come out. I can turn it and twist it around but it will not come out. Has anyone ever done this before and can you help me please.

Yes! i have, if you have the original rear matser!! the it should be a case of removing the C clip inside and the push rod will drop out, If you remove the rubber from around the bottom and look in you see what i mean, If you dont have any its worth buying a set of C clip pliers, makes the job very very easy, and will save time putting the clip back with new push rod installed! Mine is a mc21 so not sure if it differs from model to model!

I did it. It worked and you are right. I tried to do it without the pliers and it was impossible so I went out and bought it. Got it in and got to finish my project. Now I just have to wait for my exhuast gaskets to come in so I can install my Jha pipes.

Thanks!
