I think what you meant to say is;

wot is "spelled" what. Of course, some of you guys spell tire with a "y" so who knows.

Sorry, just couldn't resist...

No Kyon, I think what you meant to say was that unfortunately, you are not familiar with the differences between American 'English' and British English... Very Happy

Here are some pointers!

Past Simple/Past Participles

The following verbs have two acceptable forms of the past simple/past participle in both American and British English, however, the irregular form is generally more common in British English (the first form of the two) and the regular form is more common to American English.

Burn - Burnt OR burned
Dream - dreamt OR dreamed
Lean - leant OR leaned
Learn - learnt OR learned
Smell - smelt OR smelled
Spell - spelt OR spelled
Spill - spilt OR spilled
Spoil - spoilt OR spoiled

Sorry, just couldn't resist... Laughing

They still have frame and engine numbers, so could you not just fill out a new reg form??? There are a few people with RS's and TZ's onthe road. Cool

Great Maxim,

Way to ruin a guys attempt to have a little fun in an otherwise boring day at work...

But I do have to say, that little bit of knowledge is going to bring me loads of fun. You see, my wife was an "English" major in college and hates the improper (she won't believe burnt is correct) use of the language. So I'm going to start using the British versions of whatever words I can find just for fun. Should be amusing...

Kyon

Sorry for being a bit off topic...

Fenton, even if a bike/car does not have a vin number its not a problem as they give you a vin number,Its easy to get a bike/car registered,my mate has just built a Harley/chopper,the only problem he came across was when he put down what make it was,he wanted to put Harley but as the frame was not made by Harley they would'nt let him so on the Log book where it says "Make"his says "ALISTER" as his name is Al and we call him Alister,But as Maxim says the RS has a Vin number so no problem there.

RC,it is legal to put a new or second hand frame on a bike,i know someone who has put a second hand frame that was not registered in this country on there bike, you get to keep your old reg number and they just change the vin number on the log book to that of the frame your fitting.

I have registered moto-x bikes for the road before and its pretty straight forward especially if you are happy with it on a Q plate. The last time I done it I just got an mot for it and I think I just sent that off with the appropiate form and they sent back a log book. You dont even need lights to get it through an mot.
