Now that my MC28 is practically finished (and will be unvailed very soon) I have managed to spend a bit of time getting my 21 running again, I had a problem with the powervalves and it wasnt reving past 8000rpm, had loads of grief getting them out as the bolt was threaded and wouldnt come off, ended up taking the barrel off to do it properly (as you probably know, I found I had single ring pistons), anyway, the barrel is back on; powervalves set up and after a bit of persuasion it fired up. A quick spin up the road to see what its like and.....it seams to be a flyer!
Revs cleanly and seams to run really well, I also dropped it down from 180 to 150 main jets as I thought it was running rich, it still has the powerjets and oil pump and only mods I can see are airbox, silencers and single ring pistons, I now think I will book it in for a dyno session to make sure all jetting etc is correct and safe, then bring on some track days!!!
Also, does anyone know of any good (local to watford) people that can set up my suspension for me, currently its all standard R spec. Also where do you peeps get your tyres?
if you have posted a pic somewhere already twin head lights? red/yellow colour scheme? (i wont say where) ive seen it and it looks ace!! LOL
www.fwr.co.uk for tyres, ring them for what you want as the website only has the latest greatest and discount tyres, also Universal do a good deal and a ride in ride out service, again phone for you local garage and ask about stock!
is there not a place called MHP near you, im sure there is again he dose a ride in ride out service and from what i remeber he's quite good, been a long time youll need to look him up
If your gona get it dynoed try Total Traction in colchester, a bit of a hike but very good!
Thanks for the info, I think I know where you may have seen it .
I was planning on going to road and track in Aylesbury to get the dyno done, dont really want to ride too far in case its way out at the moment...although I think 150 should be pretty safe.
I will have a phone around about the tyres...I guess I need to know which ones to get, I currently have Michelin Pilot race on my MC28 and have been pretty happy, as this bike is going to be mainly a track tool I dont know what to get, maybe pilots again ?
Aargh, just took the airbox off again and tried to get a good seal from the rubbers that mount to the carbs and noticed I have somehow broken the X-piece of the powerjets.
Don't do anything until you replace that X-piece, as it will run lean if it's broken.
It will also get progressively leaner the more you rev it too, so it could positively scream at the top-end... but not for long!! (Allegedly!! ) _________________ Andy.

No worries, its tucked away in the back of the garage, I will pop down the local honda dealer tomorrow and see if they can order me one.....last thing I want is it to go bang after I finally get it running properly.
If a permently open power jet causes it to run lean, wouldnt a blocked powerjet cause the bike to run rich? I always thought it was the other way round.
You learn something new all the time, but I doubt I will ever understand power jets!
I remember starting a thread on here about power jets and how they operate, as mine had no soleniods (pipes were open), and the jets were not blocked off.
I think the outcome was that the soleniods were closed at low rev's and open at high rev's. So on mine is was like them always being on line. Bike ran absolutly fine like this.
So, having no X piece would be like having the solenoids open and would run rich at lower rev's if anything, and run normal at high rev's.
Dont worry Andy, I beleive what you say, I just dont understand them that well. The bike is safely tucked away at the back of the garage until the pieces arrive.
Thanks again RC46, I look forward to giving it a good blast to see what it goes like...but I will save that until after I get it dyno'd.
