Help and support for Chaz Davies

Fri Jun 11, 2004 9:19 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Thanks to And'ys generous offer to drum up support for our very own British GP rider, I am posting this message on the NSR forum.
My original message was posted on the http://www.britishgp-sc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=92 If you read the message there you may be sympathetic towards helping Chaz with his burgeoning costs of Grand Prix racing. Andy was quite right to suggest that not much response has come from the GP supporters and I for one am bemused by the lack of support also. I rather suspect that in the final analysys I will be the person who will be beating the drum for Chaz. If any of the NSR guys would like to donate any cash ( what ever the size of monies it all counts) please make cheques out to Chaz Davies and forward to me at 22, Queens Drive. Cheadle Hulme. Cheshire. SK8 5DN How nice it would be if we could donate this fund to Chaz from NSR world.com

Dave, my cheque will be in the post this weekend. (Well, maybe Monday if I can't get up in time to catch the village P.O. before they close early!!)

Come on then you guys in the UK, Chaz is doing us proud in 250GP's on little more than his own enthusiasm and minimal sponsorship! Even though he's on an Aprilia, let's get behind the guy!!

Read Dave's post on the BGPSC forum to hear about Chaz's latest woes and impressive comeback, and check out his official website for a great insight into his achievements.

Who knows, given the way Dave gets to roam around and mingle with the stars at various GP's, maybe he'll meet up with Chaz again and talk him into an appearance at a track-day!!! ;)

Maybe Chaz should take up tennis? Seems to be the only way to get recognised as a promising sporting star in the UK now unless you play rugby or soccer!

Forgot to post today Dave (memory like a sieve!!), but the cheque's made out and 'Er Indoors will post it for me tomorrow!

Jeff, Nigel, thanks for stepping up - that's the spirit! Smile A few more to the fold would be nice though.

I'm not naming names, but come on guys, you know who you are! Let's face it... even if it's just a tenner, that's only a fraction of what many would spend in just one night watching the footbal down the pub!!

Let's hope Mr. Honda snaps him up pretty soon and he gets a decent ride! Mind you, I wouldn't mind being able to ride that Aprilia half as competetively as he can!!!

Thanks to everyone who has pledged support for Chaz Davies, As I receive your monies I will post the running total on the forum here. So far we have £10,00 from Wes + £20.00 from me, that's £30.00 in the kitty.
If anyone abroad would like to contribute but is unsure how to get monies to me, I have a paypal account where the monies may be deposited. Please Email me for this address
Cheers.
Dave

Cheers Andy, your donation arrived today. Running total now at £40.00. As soon as the other pledges arrive I will post on this thread.
I am meeting Chaz at the Day of Champions, the Thursday before the GP. I think it would be a nice time to present our funding to him there. If any of the NSR boys would like to be present, then I think that would go down really well. I will of course take photos of the hand over and write an article for the forum.
Come on boys!........send in your dosh!

Mr. Booth ( Wink Stephen!), I admire your dedication and charitable goodwill!

I have promised to make it to Donnington for years - I think this year could well be the one though! What are the dates?

Great Stuff! Monies arrived from Jeff this morning £20.00 Thats £60.00 in total.
I also received a £10.00 donation from a customer of mine that I mentioned Chaz to, bringing our total now to £70.00.
Please keep the £ coming in, let's see if we can make £100.00
A buddy of mine who I mentioned what I was collecting for stated" You won't go far GP racing on £70.00" But he is completely missing the point, of course this will not meet Chaz's needs for a seasons racing, but can you imagine the suprise/joy when the final total is presented to him from a group of Honda enthusiasts. Not only will Chaz be "made up" but the feelgood factor from us lot will be there to be savoured. By the way my "Buddy" declined to add to the funds.
Anyway my feelgood factor kicked in big time today after receiving the monies from Jeff and my customer. I am also hoping to receive extra funds from other friends of mine.

I think it's a fantastic gesture, and like I said before, if it just pays his fuel costs to get to Donnington, then it's money well spent!

The issue isn't whether you raise £70 or £7000, it's the fact you know you have helped a talented young BRITISH GP "hopeful", and that he knows there is support out there for what he's doing!

I'm hoping he jumps on a Honda pretty soon, then the NSR-WORLD project bike can maybe get a Chaz Davies replica paint-job!!

Fantastic!!!!! £40.00 more arrived today for the Chaz fund. £20.00 from Dave Ett and £20.00 from Steve RC45 that's £110.00 in total so far. Keep those pledges coming in lads Razz Don't be shy in contributing please, it does not matter what the size of your donation is, just as long as you are able to send something. Hopefully there are still a few pledges yet to arrive from those who mentioned that they are able to give towards the fund. My chum is selling a set of MTB pedals on Ebay, the proceeds of which he is giving to the fund. I think that is such a great idea that I am also putting stuff to sell on Ebay. I will keep everyone informed of the total. I will contact Chaz on his return from Assen next week and organise a specific time to meet up with him for the hand over of our collection. This will be sometime on the Day of Champions at Donnington, the Thursday before the British GP. As soon as I have confirmation of a time and place, I will post this up on the forum so that if any of the NSR boys would like to be present they are able to personally meet Chaz and have a chat with him Very Happy
