hi all ,

I'm new to NSRs but have been reading your forum for the last few days and am very impressed Laughing

Anyway the reason for my post is i have been offered a 1992 NSR250sp for £2300 . I have been told it is an Sp with fully adj suspension and dry clutch , but looking at the pics i have been sent it has black wheels ( with ridges at the edges - does this mean they are from an SE) , black forks and a black front mudguard . does this mean its a SE with Sp fairing ? if so what is it worth .

also all seems in good condition.

thanks for any help / advise you can give Laughing[/img]

seems quite expensive. Look in the for sale section to see how much they go for. There is a 28 going for nearly the same money Wink

The rims sound like standard rims, meaning it's either an SE, or could be an R with a dry clutch engine added in. The color of the forks don't mean much, some of the R's came with black, as did some of the SE's and SP's (91 and 92 had them mixed).

From what others are saying here, 2300 GBP seems a little high for a standard NSR (No trick bits to make it all fancy like). But others in England can give you much better advice on that.

Now in the US that price for a decent model anything with valid title would be a good price.

I paid £3,000 for a '96 Repsol MC28SP last year. And this was for a low mileage (7,000 miles), mint bike in original condition with lots of paperwork/history, all manuals/handbooks (albeit in Japanese), spare unused card key still wrapped.....ie. very well looked after original machine, and not a restoration, just well preserved. It was even brought into the country brand new and I have the original receipt for the bike. I reckon this makes it quite a unique find and in a few years it might be worth more.

I've not seen any NSR's sell for much more than this so this is probably around the top guide price for a MC28SP in the UK, and an MC21SP is an earlier model so the guide price should be a bit lower.

Sounds like a deal to me, here in Japan, any SP bike will command more than that, they are really rare bikes and the prices keep going up, there are nice condition MC21 SP bikes up for sale here in Japan for like 5,000 USD to 9,000 USD depending on the condition and the prices keep going up. For MC28 bikes I have seen some nice low mileage SP bike go from 7,000 USD to well over 11,500. Better get that bike while you can if it is a real SP.
