Trustworthy site?

Fri Jul 14, 2006 8:19 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Well here goes, fire extinguisher at the ready........

I have been warned about coming on this site from someone as the owner is untrustworthy(always a worry with internet purchases) but I can find no evidence to prove it, any comments?

I don't expect this to go down well with admin but I suppose if its deleted then I know where I stand.

Bit of a strange post...

The owner is completely trustworthy and the site is THE online source for everything NSR.

i don't think anyone else need reply as you'll get the same from all on here!

Who was the bad feedback from out of interest?

Yeah, I fully back Andy. I know (not a single doubt) that everyone else on here will say the same.

Again, I'm interested to know who's put out a bad word.

Someone who claims to know him quite well but is it fair to name him? I dunno?

Yes its a strange one but if someone is on a mail list saying 'don't trust him he ripped me off for £1500' then I feel justified in getting feedback or at least a response. I am not trying to upset anyone but its pretty difficult to put across a question like this without sounding a bit of an ar#e, sorry Embarassed

I don`t know what you`ve heard.

I don`t know if Andy`s 100% trustworthy.

All I can say is he seems very busy, runs a great, very useful site & has never given me any cause for concern.

There should be a lot of people on here that have been using this site a lot longer than myself who would ,I think, disagree with your "someone".

I consider myself lucky that I`ve only been `ripped off` by one person via internet purchases, costing me £110 from an advert, unfortunately, from this site. Had nothing to do with the owner though.

This site suits me sir!
I don`t even want to imagine the time & effort it must take.
That`s the luxury I have of not running it & trying to please everyone all of the time.
I used to use the RGV forum a lot, very impressive site & I`ve got the same respect for Sean, it just doesn`t suit me anymore.

Personally I find this site much more friendly & fairly balanced opinion-wise.
Seeing as it`s someone elses baby, it`s good of them to allow us to express & impose our opinions on it.

For what it`s worth, it`s just my view.

I'm not sure what you're after really. Why do you want to come onto this site, and what do you want out of it that you would need warning against?

Have you been warned about Andy, or about the site (as that's what you posted about)?

All a bit peculiar...

What a lot of bull...., why don't you just stay away then ??
You won't be missed, but you might miss alot.

This site is not a commercial site as such, there's a lot of free info and a forum answered by anyone who cares. So even IF the owner was untrustworthy how would that affect you "coming on this site" ??

If you're a Troll, go home to your stinking earthhole.

If you are serious and want to continue coming here, give the owner a big excuse and stop spreading anonymous slander. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Well thanks for the welcome. I am not trolling and I find your attitude unreasonable. Anyhoooooo

Having recently got an mc21 I was looking for some parts and I was refered to this site, however I was also warned that the owner was not to be trusted so what was I to do ? Take someone elses word for it who has been a member of a email list for sometime (who has corresponded regulary) or just jump into this site feet first? Perhaps with hindsight I should maybe have pm'd the owner but then do I get a balanced view? I am after opinions and it seems you defend the owner very strongly. I have already apologised once and shan't do so again just to satisfy pbekkerh who should really get his/her facts rights.........

slander is "...publication of a false statement of fact, made with the requisite state of mind, that causes injury"

I am trying to find out if its false so how can it be slander as I never made a statement of fact ....... Rolling Eyes

Well, this does seem like it`s a request that`s looking for a certain type of response.

You obviously must know some people are going to find this offensive.

Trying to be a smart arse is only going to antagonise people even more.

Maybe it`s innocent, maybe it`s sinister.

Either way, I`m getting bored with it now.

Take the site & people as you find them, just like everyone else has had to.

I dont think your on the right site Confused We dont need to defend Andy and if something did happen between Andy and the person you know then thats their buisness and not ours and remember there are two sides to every story.I do think you have over stepped the mark if your going to post sh*t like this then you should post all the facts if they are facts, would you be happy if you had a site and someone you dont know came on saying stuff like this, anyway if you dont think you can trust Andy then get your parts and info from someone else.

Your source is a liar and spineless!

But you have come here, unprepared to give your name, seemingly for no other reason than to attempt to cause unjustified disdain amongst the Site users.

Feel free to come to Llandow on July 28th and meet me in person. We can discuss what "your source" has told you, and you can make your own informed decision.

Is there an ulterior motive as to why you are unprepared to leave your name or contact me directly?

As you can see, I have not deleted this post, as I have no reason to worry myself with it. I do however consider the thread closed to further discussion. If you think you have problems with me or the Site, then you discuss them with me personally.

Twisted Evil Here is my take on this drama Shocked
I am whats known by some as a lurker Confused You know, one of those guys on a mailing list that wait forever thru all of the teenage girl talk untill something of real mechanical interest pops up Razz
One of these lists is the Gammmmmma list(RG500).....I have one of them as well Cool
Anyhow there was something that popped up about an NSR guy, perhaps they refered to Andy(Not complimentary) Evil or Very Mad
So this is what I know for a fact so listen up. I don't listen to winney B.S. and when I see it I delete it.
Trust but verify....Never spread anything bad etc Idea Its a small group of owners and you would be wise to learn who is who and stray from any hearsay Idea

Andy and I have been friends for a rather long time. Gotten drunk on many occasions and scared villagers on motorcycles over here in the states Shocked

I think the world of him and he has been thru some real crap the last few years. I have not had him visit for some time now and we all miss him here as well.(Don't think that it means I want to sleep with ya Andy). We just miss ya and drinking into oblivion Twisted Evil

Andy gets my vote and always will. So if ya wanted some insight thats what I have to say. There are always two sides to everything and I have a pretty good reputation to consider when I pledge my support for or against any one or anything. Exclamation

Hate to see stuff like this pop up and grow legs but when its one of our own we tend to support those who deserve it...NSR guys know NSR guys and we do know who ifs full of crap and who is a brother, We deal with eachother enough for parts and help so keep from the Dark side Young Jedi Twisted Evil

Thank you to Maxim, Dave, Poul, Roy, Wayne, and Mark who have all stepped up with kind words on this topic within just a few hours of it appearing.

I wonder how many people would do that for "the source" mentioned in the opening post - not many, I am confident of that.

Again, thanks guys, although unnecessary it is appreciated. (Apart from Mark who makes me sound like a raving alcoholic!!) Cool
