I heard you can slice a wire on the 250's to give it more power is this true??

No, the MC16 is restricted in many other ways. Carbs, barrel porting etc.

Drill 4 x 1" holes in the top of the airbox lid and do the wire-splice, and you could see around an extra (free) 15hp!*

Do a plug chop after making the modifications, just to be on the safe side.

*Note: MC18 R5K/R6K and all MC21 models.

I have tried 2 do the wire splice on the mc 18 and there is no orange/blue wire!! Is mine an early model nsr or is it a different colour wire??

You won't need to if the motor is in good shape. The MC18 (both Mk1 and Mk2) will fair old fly along with the ignition delimited and some holes in the airbox lid... ask anyone who chased nsr.wayne at Llandow last weekend!

StephenRC45's MC18 R5K jumped from 45hp to 61hp with those modifications. I'm sure he'll post a graph of it soon enough.

Hello again i have tried this on my bike and its seems to run better with the wire plugged in!!!Has any1 else tried this on a mc18? I think mine is a r2k or r4k!

It will run bad with it disconnected if you havn't drilled the airbox.You need too do both to get the extra free 15 horses
