to by pass the speed restriction in 4,5, and 6th gears....
you use the wire splice to connect them all to the 3rd gear....
correct...

and they don't recommend hooking them to the 1st gear wire...

well,

what if you hooked 1,2 to the 1st...
then 3, and 4 to the 2nd...
and 5 and 6 to the third....

or othe non linear arrangement....
like 1,2,3 to 1
4,5 to 2nd
and 6 to 3rd...?

Andy has a GPS wire splice that can be spliced from any one gear to another. We havnt done anything with it on the yet as there is just always so much other stuff we end up playing with.

Would it have any benefit to justify it or not that much...?

I meant to say "on the dyno"

We'ved playing with ign timming on a couple of NSR's with very good results so its worth looking at. I think most people just stick with splicing into 3rd though.

im sure everyone has seen the GPS switch. can it be taken out, hole plugged, mounted near the dash and made 'user selected'?

You could do, some of the later TZ250's have a 3 way mode select button mounted on the handle bar letting them change ign curve.

There's too much thought going on here, there's enough to do on the roads without thinking of switching ignition maps too!

I dunno, all you wanna be GP racers! Laughing

But since we're at it, what wold you call the switch positions for ultimate pose factor? "wet, dry, tyres ragged"?
