Oil pump setting

Sun Aug 27, 2006 9:27 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi All,

Well I am slowly fixing my mc21se back to rideable condition for NZ's impending summer - after being in the UK for a scorcher... whats with 37degC?? Although I did get to check out Team KR and Renault F1 while I was there.

Anyway I got to adjusting the oil pump, and I just thought I would check on this one - when I line up the marks on the lever to the base, it leaves an awful lot of play in the line, eg the lever on the pump will start moving after about 1/8th of a turn of the throttle - I have always just adjusted the slack out of the line. Is this normal, I guess it would explain the smoke and oil consumption though...

Cheers

Nick
