Spotted this on ebay
Link removed by Admin.

Anyone tried one before? Cheaper and more available than genuine!

Hmm from Hong Kong.

I worry that it removes a limiter that isnt there anyway.

I guess if you don't mind you might waste £75 its worth a go if you can't get hold of a genuine one.

I was going to ask the same question. Don't suppose you've bought one have you?
I also wondered about the 'limiter'.
I found a cdi on ebay before, it wasn't for an NSR, but at the bottom of the listing it stated that they did make them for the MC16. I emailed the guy and he informed me that they didn't actually produce them for any NSR. I'm sure his name was Sky.
I guess the moral here is to be careful and as Stephen says, be prepared to waste £80.

No ebay links are allowed in general discussion.

Fontyyy isn't Admin, he's a Mod. I deleted it. When eBay advertisers start paying me for additional advertising then I will allow eBay links. Charles and I are not shelling out for corporate hosting to host links to line someone else's pockets.

If you don't like my policies...

Moderated posts should all now include "Admin", "FY", "DE", or "RC" to show who edited them.

Ok so how the hell is someone meant to find out what stuff like this is like??

Stinks a bit really, thought this is meant to be a community helping likeminded nsr owners out?

There are these Hong kong cheapy CDI's on ebay right now for half the price of a OE one what does everyone think?

Then I'd say..

Steer clear. Wink

Well most of us go and buy it! Same old same old... everyone wants the answers, no-one else wants the risk or to do the groundwork.

But its not as if I was helping the seller out by posting the link, It could even harm sales as some other may see the link here and avoid buying off them!!

I just dont get this place sometimes.. yeah sure its andy's train set and all that but it really lives up to its reputation in the two stroke community with stuff like this. I've been an active member on many two stroke and car forums and have never had so many posts deleted/edited as I have here in 12 months of using it!

I dunno.. this will probably get deleted like WB's post a few months back in the '28 hating thread'.. Crying or Very sad

Why blame me?
I've deleted about three posts ever and never a whole thread. One definately illegal post (threat of violence) and a couple of conversations in Classifieds is the sum total of my axe swinging.
Other than that all I ever do is correct spelling mistakes, make posts readable and close BB code.

In an effort to stay on topic (the dodgy ebay mc16 CDIs) I'd be concerned they claim to remove a none existant speed restriction and seem to fit nc23's as well.

and go for it Steve, having raced the '21 on Saturday I am now a converted man....
