Lovely indeed, I was at a local bike meet yesterday and spoke to a guy with an R1z c/w a 3XV swingarm, he reckoned you made your way sometimes to The New Inn at Shardlow, first Thusday of every month is apparently a two stroke meet. If it's nice I'll have a spin up with a local mate of mine (who rides a Harley Softtail but has an RD400 in bits and a CBR600 trackbike).

And this will be the very bike you met isn't it Fontyyy?

It's lovely innit? - though i am a sucker for anything in the Kenny Roberts colours. And Fred - the owner/builder is a good egg too. I particularly like the way that the 3XV front and rear ends he's fitted look as though they are factory - even more so when Fred has the GP style pipes fitted.

I understand Sjardlow is a good meet Fontyyy. Get sopme piccies if you make it over there. Though i supsect it'll be quietening off at this time of year. You should come to the ashbourne RD rally in July too. A Top weekend of bikes, boozing and blether.

Best

Gotta love the R1Z. Next best thing to an NSR in my opinion. And that is a real sweet example.

Way back in the dark ages I used to drool over the RD400. I owned an RD200 at the time. Then I rode the 400 and immediately rushed out an bought a Lindermere tuned 350LC and a Simpson Bandit. TZ pipes, big carbs, 132mph at Santa Pod, speed slapper at 100mph. Sheer bliss!
