OK then I know we are a 2t forum but im posting this on the forums I use as I have a Friend who is in need of a rear caliper carrier & pad pin for his 1996 Transalp 600, Tried one dealer and been told could be 10 days to get a new one.
The problem is, he is currently riding threw the Americas and is in Mexico at the minute, another friend is going out to see him and meet up with them in Cancun on Saturday, and needs to take the part with him.
As they are traveling around it would be very difficult to post it to him as he is moving about abit.
So you can see the urgency, I am hoping some one can help out and get him out of the s**t here.
Oh and sorry Andy for the sort of off topic thing but it is a Honda, and he is pretty desperate now so any info would be much appreciated.
If a NSR one is the same he's welcome to mine I never use it. May take a while to get to Mexico though. _________________ If you dont like the way that i ride.....Stop trying to keep up!!!!!

Thanks for the offer mick, dont think the NSR one is the same, and the urgency is another friend is flying out to Cancun to meet up with him. _________________ MC21R Repsol replica

If you had a part number we might be able to cross referance it and see if its the same for a bike that easier to get parts for. Might be easier to find it in the US and have it shipped overnight to Mexico. _________________ james

I did a little research and found the translap 650 (XV650?) was not sold in the US in '97. The closest we have is the XR650. I suspect the rear brakes may be similar, and they were the same brakes fir all the XR series bikes 200cc and above since about the mid '90s.

Hi j911
Thanks for that I have a funny feeling the bike is 'shaft drive' but I could be wrong I am going to contact a dealer in the UK that keeps a lot of N.O.S so hopefully might have a PT # by the end of the day.
The bike is a Transalp 600 XL600VT, model index PD06 . _________________ MC21R Repsol replica
