PGMIII

Thu Dec 07, 2006 7:43 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi All,

I am baffled w/my PGMIII's, based on another post re: Flooded motor, here is where i am at w/ troublshooting.

The original PGM was not making any spark at all on both coils(reason for not kicking over), but same PGM was sending power to servo > RC Valves. When I installed backup PGM, I was getting a nice fat blue spark on both coils but not getting and power to servo > RC valves. I tried to swap several times and continued to get same results. Hmmm, I am baffled! Do I need a completely new PGM III ? Can I have it serviced ? Is there something causing problems w/ both PGM's (burnt out etc...) which are related to possibly the regulator, HRC black box, possibly pinched wires Ignition ? Appreciate the feedback!

Thanks,
Randy

The main reason for PGM's to die is misadjusted or seized power valves. This kills that part of the PGM but the will continue to run but without the RC valve working.

I've now seen a couple of PGM where a lack of spark was due to burn pins into side the multi pin connectors going into the PGM, these can be cleaned with contact cleaner.
