well, yesterday i took my MC21 R for its first real track run, after it ceased first lap last time, and i've got to say what a weapon! scary peice of machinery, last time i did a track day was on a VTR250, so it's going to be a bit of a learning curve. i guess i never really appreciated how hard it was going to be to keep it in peak power band after riding a 4 stroke v-twin. lasted 2 1/2 sessions before i lost a bolt from the gear selector, got stuck in 3rd or 4th, and couldn't find a replacement at the track.
Anyway, purpose of this message is to thank the people who both offered help through this forum and also to the people who wrote the rebuild guide on the nsr-world site. i think that if i didn't have such good advice i may have just put it in the too hard basket and sold it, but after a little less than an hour on the track i'm now hooked!
so, THANK YOU to the people who offered advice and information on the couple of threads i've started, you have saved me a lot of money in mechanics charges and given me the motivation to get my hands dirty!
and now a photo of my bike in case any sydney members spot me at the track...
still can't wipe the grin off my face!
{edited to fix a lot of bad spelling and grammer}
