NSR250 MC21 restoration

hi i have bought a red/white MC21SE Gull Arm that needs restoring i want to keep it original and wanted to know if the clipons where painted black or just bare,and if the top and bottom yoke was bare or painted and what was the colours of the red on the mudguard and wheels and the white on bodywork too,and also colour of subframe,thanks

Clip-ons and bottom yoke should be gloss black. Top yoke semi-gloss (satin) black. Subframes on all MC21s should be silver.

Ross White (NH196)

Red... not sure. Would need to check the book! Someone will know. Could be Passion Red R109.

Fighting Red, just for reference, is R134. (But fairly sure it's not that.)

Hi
Sounds like I am doing roughly the same resto as you...I used some alloy wheel paint for the subframe as it was less "silvery" a bit more of a graphite shade in it. It was a really close match to original. I don't know if you still have the colour code sticker on the subframe rails, I did, so masked around it carefully.

Next week I turn the bike round on the bench having completed the rear end and start on the front, any advice on refreshing the top/bottom yokes, forks, clip-on's, cockpit area... greatly appreciated.

Mine was like the attached but the previous owner powder coated the wheels white...
