2nd hand Tyres wanted

Tue Jan 30, 2007 2:18 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Please excuse this as a first post, but the reason is because I don't actually have an NSR.
My situation is this: I've bought a very cheap Honda Bros for my mate (who curently doesn't even ride) and we're doing it up on a very very tight budget, ideally getting it on the road for about £300, which includes buying it in the first place!
Which is why I'm on the scrounge for a pair of tyres for it. The bike's got a pair of Michelin Macadams on there at the moment (also available to a good home once i've got some replacements), which'd be bad enough if the back one was the right size, which it isn't.
I scratched my head and came to the conclusion that the only place where I'm going to find a pair of half sensible sticky, confidence giving tyres with a 110 X 17 front and a 150 x 17 rear is a 2 stroke hang-out such as this, so here's my appeal. I've £60 to spend on tyres, plus some petrol money to go get 'em, I don't mind especially if the sides have seen a track or two, so long as the centre 2/3rds are going to get me through an MOT, and ideally I'd like a matched pair; ie bt090's front and rear, rather than a bt090 front and an m1 rear etc. I'm not actually that fussy about profiles, a look about on a few different Bros and HawkGT sites has established that the bike's not actually that sensitive to difference in height, just width, plus it's got a fireblade rear shock and cbr6 forks so it's hardly going to be stock handling anyway.
The deal is this, I assume this site costs a couple of quid to run, I'll give whatever change I get out of my £60 budget to the sites running costs so long as you guys can get me some new rubber.
In the mean time I'm going to carry on sniffing about tyre fitting places for their cast offs...

Cheers for your help.

PS. It's kinda 2t related, it's going to have a Honda rs125 seat unit on it.
