HELP!. my mc28 SP

Fri Feb 09, 2007 3:24 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

hi guys, i just brought a very nice original
nsr250r sp 1996 repsol #222 of 1000

anyway its all immac, but on idle it kinda makes a ping clin ting bing sound, not very load though, and it goes away when u throttle upto 2-3 k .
only makes it when sitting on idle, kinda sounds similar to clutch sounds (dry but slower and loose sounding)

doesnt effect the bike as its still runs nice and quick as hell!!!.

is this normal? am i to worry? , thanks guys

If the plug colour is good and it goes like stink then I wouldn't worry.

You want to run it with no damper rubbers and the cover off! Wink

A few years ago, when NSR's were plentiful in Thailand, the common thing to do was to run the inside friction plate (with rubbers) and also another of these on the outside of the clutch pack. The Thais couldn't handle the dry clutch jangle!!!

I'm with Andy though. No rubbers, cover off.
