Hi. Read all the articles i was able to find with TPS and Power / RC valves, All state the ignition & swicth method. When I manually turn values, and switch on, the both valves moves to right hand side of marks. Unplugging the TPS and switching back on, the valves / servo do not move a mm. Any ideas or how else can I set the valves without taking exhaust off?
Mine does that yes, with and without TPS connected. But from moves full HI to LO to full HI (inline with HI mark or servo) and it seems like that is not what I want i.e. full HI when setting to mark position?
Thanks Stephan. Revving 2000rpm - 3000rpm causes servo to go to full HI. At that point both the valves are in line with the markings. Does this mean that my NSR's valves do not work they way they should (do not open fully at higher rpms e.g 10000 as they should then go past the markings thus open up more)??
With the PV setting hole and pointer lined up the valve is still closed by almost 2mm.
If at full HI on your servo motor your power valve is only lined up with the markings then your valves are still not fully open. Full open positon is about 1.5mm passed the line/hole on the barrel.
This is why you disconnect the TPS turn the ign on and adjust the valve to the set postion. NOT blip the motor to 3k and then set the power valve up to the barrel markings. If you do do this then the servo will try and close the valve to far and good buy PGM. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...

Is your's a MK 1 18/pgm 1?? _________________ Harley Davidson is the worlds most efficient way to turn petrol into noise without the harmful side effect of horsepower.
I'm not sure if Mk 1.... All I do know is that with TPS connected / disconnected the PV does not move from LO position, only when revving between 2000 - 3000 rpms does it move to HI and past approx 3000 down to LO again. And I agree with Stephan that it most likely setup incorrectly as I can hear a buzzing sound from PV when ign and switch on, guess its trying to close an already closed valve!
The reason I asked was that my MK 1 mc18 does what yours does with the TPS disconnected "nothing" but my MK2 mc18 does what Stephen says when I disconnect the TPS. _________________ Harley Davidson is the worlds most efficient way to turn petrol into noise without the harmful side effect of horsepower.
Start the engine, blip it to just over 3000 rpm and mark the servo motor where the pully wheel pointer goes too (it wont go as far as the HI mark on the servo body).
Stop the engine and turn the servo pully to this new mark. This is now full open.
Take the exhaust off and adjust teh cables so the power valve flaps are just recessed inside the roof of teh exhast port (0.2-0.3mm).
Button it all back up and away you go.
Do not use the marks on the barrels as these will now mean nothing. You are now setting it up, servo full open-valve full open. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
Sorry mate I cant help you there as I was lost as well trying to set up my mk 1.I was following Stephens instructions as he told me them over the phone but unplugging the
TPS didnt do anything so I copied the setting from my mk 2 which is set up correct . _________________ Harley Davidson is the worlds most efficient way to turn petrol into noise without the harmful side effect of horsepower.
