MC21 Frustration!!!

Thu Mar 29, 2007 7:02 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Well.. i now have 2xPGMIII units, 2xTPS, 2xRC servo's!
no matter what combination of these 6 different parts i use when the ign is turned on and i switch it to run, the servo goes straight to high Sad

Feels like im missing something really simple?? there's no way all of these parts are faulty!

I still have not connected the RC cables.. would the servo act differently with cables attached?
Would it act differently if bike was running?

Is there a fault in my wiring loom??

Im really stumped here, any suggestions would be great

Thanks

Sounds like the TPS could be incorrectly fitted. Like you say, highly unlikely that ALL combinations of those parts won't work. Either that, or you are the most unlucky person in the world!

I am not sure if it works like other adjustable exhaust valves, but most go from full open, to fully closed every time you turn on the ignition to calibate and clean themselves.

I would try cabling it up to the valve and see what happens. It should go fully closed, fully open then stop either closed or in the middle somewhere.

If you've connected up the TPS incorrectly then you'd get that sort of issue. It's incredibly sensitive to it's low point, and every one is different, so if you've removed the TPS from the carbs and just fitted another one, then that may be the problem...

cheers guys,

I'll have another look at the TPS, and also get a multi metre and go over the entire loom..

Anyone know what the voltages should be out of the TPS and RC servo etc?
