F250 Mallory 29 April

Tue Apr 10, 2007 4:56 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Got an update on the entries for Mallory so far

1 Steve Pond RGV
2 Chris Waters ZXR
3 Paul Elerker ZXR
4 Faye Whitaker ZXR
5 Dino Brady RGV
6 Chris Smith ZXR
7 Russel Bates ZXR
8 Rick Owen ZXR
9 Mark Jordan KR-1S
10 Mark Bamford RGV
11 Alan Armour RGV
12 Matt Brown ZXR
13 Alan Grindy KR-1S
14 Nigel Holmes RGV
15 Iain McDonald RS250
16 Stephen Churchyard ZXR
17 Andy Carden VFR
18 John Stacey NSR250
19 Ross Searle RS250
20 Dan Williams NSR250
21 Dean Dickinson FZR
22 Joshu Knapp RS125
23 Zak Lines RS125
24 David Barker RGV
25 Scott Mills KR-1S
26 Roy Thorpe NSR250
27 Robert Mack FZR
28 Daniel Mack FZR ?

two strokes out number the diesels
Only 4 places left - nearly down to two weeks to go so if you fancy a bash get your entry in.

Added this bit
Reckon Paul Elerker (ZXR) and Alan Armour (VJ23) must be favourites - though Ross Searle (RS250), Stephen Churchyard (ZXR), Matt Brown (ZXR), Mark Jordan (KR-1S) and Russ Bates (ZXR) are going to be up there.

Chris Smith should have his ZXR back - been rebuilt by Tristan Palmer's team so might have a bit of zip plus it is his local circuit - worth keeping an eye on him.

Also watch out for Iain McDonald (RS250) down from Scotland for the day and Mark Bamford (VJ22) over from the Isle of Man.

Dark horse has to be Steve Pond (VJ22) - first time out with DP ex GP250 racer on an RGV who did very well NG.

And just to flatter you all this bit

Plus we have John Stacey on his NSR MC28 - first race meeting for him on what must be one of the prettiest bikes ever built

Sorry Max I would have come up with you but I'm going to take the wife and kids as the kids (well the boy) want to see Fontyy race and this wouldnt be a problem as we will have 2 spare seats in the car but from here I'm going up the A34 then the A43 then the A5 to Hinckley so it would be well out of my way to pop to yours but if you can make Snetterton Ill take you.

Indeed it is, thanks for the bike compliments, you'll get plenty of time to see it as I wobble around at the back, zero track time this year (and I mean ZERO), back from holiday for 3 days and not ridden Mallory for 2 years or on a two stroke ever!
Everyone else can stop worrying about coming last, I've got that one covered!

I've offered you the F3 for the weekend. I know you say it wont make you faster but 10hp up top and a load of midrange has to help somewhere Wink

Sorry Wayne I meant I'd drive from here if it was too far for you... I'll try and come up in any case and watch that inferior 28 wobble round! Wink

Fontyyy if the offer for the F3 is there you should take it!

What tyres can you run in this series. What are the regs?

They must be road legal, but I heard they might be allowed to run slicks soon.

F400 rules stipulate treaded tyres.
This excludes slicks (you are allowed them in the open 400) but permits race intermediates such as Dunlop KR364. The 400s use road tyres mainly Pirelli super corsa and Metzler Racetecs, 250s favour the Michelin SM (Super moto) tyre - it is basically a 250 slick Very Happy
Full wets are also allowed.

Not a lot in it between the best road tyre and so called race tyres.
Not sure what these new Dunlop 100 alphas are like as nobody has tried them.
