I was in the shed today looking through the box of bits and pieces that came with my newly aquired 28 and i found the hrc swipe card. I didnt really pay much attention to it, assuming it was the 030 card but upon closer inspection it has 000 on it. i think ive read somthing on here before that they wernt exactly good. am i beter off ordering the 030 card?
It'll be fine if set up right, but "right" may well be 105 octane race fuel so take care, do not just fire it up and use it!
The 010 card was leaded fuel, 020 was leaded fuel, wet weather, 030 is unleaded fuel. All others were HRC only.
Does it actually work with your PGMIV? Do you have an 030 card as well? _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
i've just got a pgm1V unit and clock's from yahoo japan - there is a hrc card and standard , the hrc card is an 010 , so this card was designed for leaded?
i thought leaded and unleaded made no difference on a 2 stroke apart from unleaded burning hotter?
i've raced many many two stroke motocross bike's and always used super unleaded due to the higher octane rating... never ever had a problem with them and they work a lot harder than any roadbike..
ok cool.. I know the bike was at one point set up to run on av gas but has since been rejeted to run on 98 octane unleaded. i havent had the bike running yet as im waiting for a new front cylinder. i think the jetting needs some serious attenntion as the previous owner nipped it only 60 km after a full rebuild ... so i think once its all back together i will go a jet size or two bigger and see how the card goes then have a play from there. So does anyone know what this 000 card acctualy is? cheers _________________ Hesitation is Fatal!!
000 HRC card was the original avgas card I think. It was available in '94.
That flywheel of Steve's looks familiar
You can't buy those flywheels. They were made by Endurance Racing for HRC and only available to people "in the know". It's for a MC28 and was developed for the Asian Championship when rules said we could alter the ignition system. I had one fitted (maybe even that one ) and it sure made the engine "BING". Then I made an alloy one that had more "BINGage" than the HRC version and saw 69hp on an otherwise (blue printed) SP spec motor. Worth their weight (or lack of it) if you're racing.
Endurance even made one for the F3. Obviously a lot smaller and lighter, and a lot "BINGier" that the one in Steve's picture.
ok thanks matt. thats sort of what i was thinking.. so i have two options then, get the bike back together and tuned for avgas and run the 000 card. or order the 030 card. Is the the performance gain using avgas worth the extra cost? is there anyother draw backs, wear and tear etc?
Oh a very special flywheel then! haha what dont you have? lol _________________ Hesitation is Fatal!!
