I did the test involving the power valves. I rotated the power valves to high position with the ignition turned off. When I turned the ignition on it did not close the valves? But occassionally I will hear the valves closing when I turn on the ignition after stopping the bike. After hearing the valves closing on ignition they then remain closed when I ride the bike resulting in a major loss of power. Then when I stop the bike and restart it the valves will then seem open resulting in a loss of bottom end power but a massive gain in top end power. It feels as though they are stuck open. Have you any suggestions as to why this is happening? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you also for the previous advice.
Have you ever carried out a 'de-coke'? Chances are the valves are pretty much stuck with carbon build up.
You need to remove the exhausts and look up the header into the engine. If it's all black and sooty, and crud up with soot, you'll need to get it all cleaned off.
This involves removing the shaft from the side of the exhaust port (where the valve drive pulley bolts on) and dropping the valves out through the exhaust. _________________ MC21SP Plaything
