I thought folks running single rings had just taken a ring off their current pistons to reduce friction. I don't know which ring is best to take off or even if this is what people do?

Most that run single ring pistons use the HRC F3 ones but these cant be used with stock barrels or stock crank.

im not that lucky to have f3 barrels or rods!!
id been looking for ages for something to fit and in desperation i went to see a friend who runs bike shop, he took the piston and has matched it up with another one. single ring and its compatable with the barrel. the only thing thats not quite right is that the dimention from the pin to the crown of the piston is 0.3mm shorter. Very Happy
the theory is try it with standard gaskets first (it should give better over rev) and then have a go with thinner base gaskets.
it will be checked on a rolling road before i advise anyone else to do it. so if im upset next week you'll know it must have ended in tears Crying or Very sad

im running the RM 125 pistons in my mc21. fitted perfectly and havent givven me any troubles now 8000km after fitting them. will be replacing the rings soon as a matter of caution but all seems well with them. Its the 94-98 suzuki (am i aloud to say that word here? lol) RM 125 items which should do the trick.
