New mc16 owner

Thu Sep 06, 2007 5:52 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Well been playing with the 2 strokes for awhile but just got into the nsr's, man I was missin the bus!!!!! What fun bikes, completely different from the rd/rz's. Looks like parts can be a bit sparce so I picked up a 2nd 16 to play with as well. My main bike is a zx10r, the mc16 feels like riding a bicycle compared to it! Corner speed & braking are completely different!!
Anyhoo looks like a wealth of info here, sure I will be firing away with some questions as I dig into em more, also have some ride reports for ya.
Here are a couple pics.

Till next time, smoke em if ya got em.

do you have many twisty roads?

nice bikes, i have the red and white in original condition. which is the donar bike and which is the one you a going to fix up?

next to the zx10 it is a world apart as most modern sports bike don't need much work to ride fast (when i say fast i don't mean dangerous) on the roads as a heavy right hand will sort that out, but the nsr is hard work to keep it going anywhere quick especially on the twisty stuff.

beautiful countryside and at least you'll get to see a bit more of it on the nsr. i've done the big bike thing but have had more fun on the nsrs, plus it gives me the real feel of being a latter day road racer. the problem is i bought another one after this and now i want another and i've no where left to put them...i'm affraid it is a disease and you'll catch it soon enough.

OOps looks like you've already contracted it.

Inthe80's, oh I got the fever, it just turned red though!!!!!
I currently have a couple different 2 strokes, here is some of my vintage trash Razz

The one without lowers is really tight, the other has been flogged a bit at the track but still has potential. Both have about 15k km's on the clock and run strong. It's fun revving these little twins to the moon lol
It is great pulling into a lot full of gixxers, zx's ect and having everyone come flock to the little nsr, they get way more attention than the 10 ever will!!!!!!!!
What are the tires of choice for these? I plan on getting em to the track once I get em dialled, our track sorta sux for the little smokers though due to being extremely fast and the 3/4 of a mile straight, I feel bad holding em wfo for that long.

so here is the lame version

tyres: search "dunlop" as last month someone recommended some excellent tyres. i'm off on holiday tomorrow so will look it up when i return if you have no luck.

did you know that the mc16 is the comfirmed DADDY on this once was mc21 site. nice to even the balance and have a mc16 on board to even up the numbers.

just one note, don't always expect a reply...strange sometimes how that happens. top site though with lots of knowledge.

Strangely enough... we don't always know the answer! Wink

Sometimes though, the answer has been posted so many times, or so recently, that people (myself included) will ignore the question! We will help those who help themselves! Smile
