Tyga headlight bulb

Tue Sep 25, 2007 11:50 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

My NSR has the older style Tyga eyes headlights. I'm looking for a replacement bulb but I can't seem to find one. It's a 35w bulb but in no configuration any of the autoparts stores recognize. After looking on the internet, my only guess is that it's an APF, BPF or MPF type bulb. Anybody? Sources?

Thanks
Don

money motivates people and will get you a quicker response to your problem and someone might have what you are looking for.

i'll check my dirt bike aftermarket headlight as i think it uses the same bulb but cannot be sure. i'll look in the work shop tonight (oops shed).

thanks

Because I'm really trying to find out "what" the bulb is. Not only for a purchase now but for future purchases. It's hard to buy something when you don't know what it is!! The only markings on the bulb are 12V 35W 35W. No bulb type. The APF, BPF type bulbs are the only ones I could find on the internet that have a similar flange but I'm not sure if they are the same physical size or not. I'd also like to find something in a slightly higher wattage.

Don't need a picture, I have two nice examples. I just don't know what type of bulb it is. Most bulbs have some sort of designation: 9004, 357, etc. That's what I'm looking for.

It sounds to me like you don't know when someone is trying to help you.

How's that? I appreciate any help I can get. A picture just won't help me and there's no need in someone taking the time to send me one. "Inthe80's" has taken the time to at least check and see what his bulbs say and I appreciate that. I'm just trying to find out what kind of bulb this is.

I think it's a British pre-focus bulb which must not be readily available in the states. Are these common in other parts of the world? The U.S. DOT likes to regulate stupid things like headlights and such.

It's not a UK market part. It's a Thai/SE Asian market part.

didn't twig on to you living in the states though

if you have no luck sourcing the bulb or info needed, next time i'm out at my mates shop i'll quizz him for info as he orders them, so he should have a parts book with info on it.

all i know about bulbs is when it's dusk and i can't see it's a good time to replace it again...other than that i'm in the dark about such issues.

I think i found one for my Tyga head light at a Scooter shop in San Diego. I just looked through my NSR stuff and I couldn't find any extra bulbs. I pulled one out of my head light and it has the letters TC before the 12v. Maybe that will help. I think I have some extra bulbs I just need to find them.
