Sat Oct 06, 2007 8:08 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

To riders that have used these tires for trackdays...what are the Fr/Rr psi set at cold ? my power races are like 23rr, 29fr cold and really offer great grip for trackdays/clubraces on the mc21r.

Cheers!

Trial and error is your friend. I finally found that 29 / 32 was about right, as the tyres got to 32 / 36 after warming up.

Track temp, rain, your weight, your riding style etc will all affect things, so best bet is to jot down start and finish figures (measure as soon as you come off the track) and note what feels good. I personally found they felt best when running at normal pressure once hot...

Dunlop told us that this tyre was to run 2.0bar front and 2.1bar rear, so about 29psi front and 30~31 rear. This was cold temps.

I raced them when they were first developed and they were great.

Times change though and the last time I rode on the circuit with them (two weeks ago) it was just plain scary!

I'm gonna put some slicks on my 300 next time I take it to the track.

You can't get the GPR70 in many places now, but Dunlop do have the new Alpha which seems to be getting good results and I guess is a development from the GPR range.
