Topic says it. Just wondering how wide sp magtek's are? I know there not 3.75 and 5.5. I'm guessing 3 and 4.25 or 4.5.

Yep, they are 3" front and 4.5" rear

Is there enough clearance to install a wider rim…? For example 5’’…

You can run up to 5.25" on the rear if you want and 3.5" on the front.

Mmmm...!!! That is very interesting... Does anyone have made this modification...? From which bikes can i fit a wider rear rim to my mc21...?

MC21 HRC F3 rear wheel fits right in as long as you also use the HRC rear caliper, disk and sprocket carrier.

Not much else will fit right in without mod's though.

You could look at RS Dymags etc but all will require new spacers/disks/calipers etc.

Maxim fitted a TZ250 rear to his MC21. Tyga supplied it, but not too sure if it was a straight bolt up.

RS250 5.25" rear is the easiest to fit. As StephenRC45 says you do need all the HRC gubbins to go with it, but than can be sourced. Well some of it can. Or fabricated.

I've got TZ marvics in my bike. Rear's 5.25". It was an easy fit, just so long as you have a machine shop at your disposal

Front 3.5" rims are common on NC30/35 and bolt straight in. They're not Magtek's though. If you want magnesium wheels you'll need an RS front. Pretty much plug 'n' play, but will need a front spacer change.

If you have the knowledge, the time and the tools you can get anything to fit within the boundries of common sense.

Everythings quite easy if you have a lathe and a Mill. I dont know how people manage to build bikes without them.

Its one of those thinsg once you have it you use all the time. Well worth the money.

Mine is a 5.25 RS wheel. Nothing needed changing apart from putting a different spacer in, and using RS250 sprokets... I ordered an AFAM one through Steve Patrikson. Still using the orginal MC21 caliper and bracket, and original MC21 disc, which is a direct bolt on! Good luck finding one though!!

When I've made my first £million (which ain't gonna be this week!), my workshop will be fully fitted with CNC machining centre and lathe, and one of them there laser cutters. I'll keep my little lathe though 'cos it's blooming handy for turning little bushes up

It's not a Magtek but a Technomagnesio. I think Matt said it was an F3 wheel so maybe that's why it's a direct bolt on?? Matt?

I think up untill '93 all HRC wheels were Magteks (made by Enki), from 94 on they started to use Marc's

The 5.25 F3 wheel in the '91-92 manual is a Magtek for sure.

Still as long as it fits hey?
