NS250R MC11

Thu Dec 06, 2007 6:45 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have just bought a new project bike in the form of a 1985 Import NS250R. Its in need of a fair amount of TLC which i have already got started on, but i have come to a brick wall when it comes to spares. Am i right in thinking that most of the spares are interchangeable between the 125 and 250 versions?

I am Searching for a new piston and piston rings, head gasket and spark plugs just to get started.

Hi there Andy, and thanks for the welcome!

Sorry about the profile thing, but im a bit new to web forums. The only reason im asking for advice is this is my first bike project and it doesn't help that im doing it in Cyprus. The language barrier itself isn't easy to overcome, and if i could get around it, im not sure if i could trust the advise after seeing some of the sights on the road over here! Its a real eye opener!

I have been lucky enough to get hold of this little gem off a mate for £50, and all it needs is a small top end rebuild and some cosmetic work.

I would be very greatful of any advice on possible spares compatability with other machines to help me with this little project.

Thanks.

Hey there Jonny,

Firstly thanks for taking the time to reply. I have been checking out MotorCycleProducts a lot recently putting together my wish list of things I want for my machine. I have found in general though that searching for spares for the early ns125 seems to come up with a lot more returns than its big brother the 250. I believe this is because they brought this machine into Europe and didn't bring the 250? The only thing I don't know is how compatible they are? As for pistons well the closest I have found is the ns125 which measures 56 x 50 which according to the info I have seen is 0.6mm out on the stroke. It would be great to hear back if you find out any more info Jonny.
