MC21 seat units/subframes

Sun Dec 30, 2007 10:17 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi

Can someone tell me if the subframes are different on an MC21 if it has a single seat unit or a dual seat unit.

Thanks

If you remove the OE rear seat pad the subframe stays the same. The bike is a single seater then with a stock shape.

If you fit a later single seat unit from Tyga you need their subframe.

There isnt an OE single seat unit. They all come with a rear pad that is removable (mc21-28 that is) to make it into a single seater.

The only time you need to alter the subframe on any of them is if you fit aftermarket "rs" style bodywork.

aaaaaahhhhhhh ok, at the risk of awakening the e-bay bodywork arguments! does anyone know if this single seat unit is designed for a normal subframe?

That looks like a copy of a stock '28 seat unit so should fit the stock sub frame fine.
