There's a topic on the very first page of the Discussion Forum that you should probably read! Moriwaki-Man is based in Japan and looking into shipping complete bikes to the UK for those that are interested.

It's rather difficult and expensive to do it yourself unless you have an agent in Japan that can buy from the motor trade auction houses (you need to be registered with them -- not like the UK where any member of the public can wander into a trade auction). Then you need to arrange exportation paperwork and shipping.

Unless you intend to fly to Japan? There's a consideration! Very Happy

You are better off (in both time and financial costs) to buy a bike from a local importer who offsets his costs by buying in bulk, or by using an agent similar to Moriwaki-Man who can do all the hard work for a fee considerable smaller than the cost of an air ticket and a weeks worth of hotels and running around!

i do the trip 3-4 times a year and Andy is right, it is bloody hard work, very long days, hours upon hours sitting in traffic etc.

But interesting and fun if your a bike nut like we are.

Pretty amazing place, i came back the first time feeling like a very small fish (inconsequential even) in a bloody big pond (so to speak).

The japs still love the 2 strokes though, nice ones still go for good prices even at trade auction.
