mc18 top yoke?

mc18 top yoke?

can any one tell me what colour the top yoke on my mc18 r5k should be?
just stripped off some black paint that had been hand painted on, it's silver/alloy underneath but the honda logo is still black?????

mines black and it aint be messed with as far as i can tell. and the rest of the bike looks unmodified.

I believe all the R5/6K's were black, and the R2/4J's were silver.

StephenRC45's is pretty close to stock, albeit an R5.5K! I'm sure he'll be able to confirm this.

You might have a bit of surface corrosion between the fork legs and the yokes making the yoke hard to release. Spray a little WD40 around um and leave for a bit then give it another go.

As stated R2J/R4J are silver R5K/R6k are black. Thats matt black too.

The screen brace is of course gloss black to make things fun.

is it possible to take off the small honda badge, the one that sits in a recess, was going to polish my r5k top yoke, anyone know if its easy to polish. or is it better to paint or powder coat it.

The badge is glued in and is quite easy to remove.

The only problem with a polished top yoke is riding in the sun! Cool

You should be able to get the badge off, as it's (well, was) available as a separate part. Soak it in WD40 to see if you can dissolve the adhesive on the back of it.
