MC16 RC Valves

Fri Jan 11, 2008 1:29 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have recently purchased an MC16 to convert into a track bike but the RC valves are in pretty poor condition. I know it would probably sacrafice bottom end power, but is it possible to run either without or lock them open?

You certainly can't run them without valves, but you can run them pinned open.

The MC16 suffers from very small exhaust ports, so I'm not sure what the results will be like as they don't exactly make masses of usable power in the first place!

Try pinning them open about 2/3. This works quite well on the MC18's -- you don't get all the top-end, but you do still keep a bit of mid-range.

Best bet is to either fix the problem, or find some MC18 barrels and heads.
