nsr250 mc28 engine cases

Tue Jan 29, 2008 5:16 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

hi everyone its been a while since i last posted here about doing an nsr type supermoto and after thinking about it for a while i just felt that the nsr engines shape did not suit the style of a supermoto. but i did come across a set of brand new engine cases on ebay and i have a plan to make custom top cases to turn the engine into a paralell twin reverse cylinder. it would be great if i could have the opinion of you guys and what you think? there is one specific question i wanted to ask and that is would the nsr cranks work in a paralell configuration?

thanks juan

heres a link to what i bought:

Admin: Long eBay link removed. I think everyone knows what NSR cases look like!

That's a good idea. Modify the NSR engine into a parallel twin, reverse cylinder.....or just find a 3MA engine and save yourself a lot of time Wink

The crank could be timed to 180 degrees. How it will work is up to you to find out!

How will you get the NSR barrels close enough together to use an NSR crank as a parallel twin?

thats a good question andy and to be honest im not sure as i dont have a lot of experience just alot of enthusiasm for two strokes but when i get the cases im going to start toying around in cad to get a few ideas and it may end up unfruitfull but atleast i will hopefully learn quite a bit in the process. anyway me thinks i need to do a bit of reading up but atleast i dont think the cases were a bad investment.
