Wanted: R5K wiring loom, air solenoids + help if poss?

Mon Apr 07, 2008 8:50 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi,

I'm looking for an R5K wiring loom and air solenoids (complete with all pipework/plumbing)

I might be interested in any other bits aswell because at the minute all I have is an R5K engine sitting in an MC21 chassis. I'm unsure what model my carbs, flywheel generator, voltage regulator, clocks and power valve servo motor are from - any tips for identification would be helpful!?

Many thanks

Jamie

If it's of any help, you can use all the MC21 electrics/plumbing/carbs etc.

No specific need to run a PGM-II just because you have an R5K motor fitted.

What would I do with the Gear box position sensor if I was running an MC21 loom? I'd have to hard wire it but wouldn't know what gear to hard wire? 2nd gear might have too agressive advance curve, 3rd gear advance curve might be a bit tame for fast getaways - I do have an MC21 loom and PGMIII but would've prefered to run the R5K setup to keep it simple.

It's R5K carbs that's on it - would the throttle position sensor on these be compatible / plug straight into the MC21 loom?

I have a set of MC21 air solenoids aswell - I don't know if these would be compatible with the R5K carbs?

I think it would be easier to run the R5K loom if I could get hold of one but if I wanted to run the MC21 setup in the meantime what would I need to do in terms of GPS, TPS & air solenoids?

Again, any help would be appreciated - I've been scratching my head for a long time on this one!
