Part # 94560-68200

Sat Apr 12, 2008 4:29 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Anyone who knows what this is and wants one (it's a 68mm circlip on the clutch side of the crank, it is not, repeat NOT a piston pin clip) can have it for a small donation to the forum and 50p paypay to fontyyy@googlemail.com to cover postage as I just picked 4 up from my local dealer ordered in error.

In fact why I'm saying a donation to the forum I don't know, the reason I got the part # wrong is the flippin' online manual is wrong.
Mr Grant, Mr Gallant which ever one of you did the manual owes me a drink or three as I've just paid for 4 circlips I don't want.

It's still kind of my fault as it does say 68mm clip and the number required but the reason the parts are wrongly listed is the pic is of an 18 crank and the center seal isn't on the pic but is in the list.

Thus the first rule is; always use the pdf, never use the forum "copy" Shocked

think you missed this little disclaimer on the parts manual Wink

*NOTE: Part numbers are reproduced from the official 1987~1994 Honda Parts Manuals, and therefore subject to updates.
Consequently, this online version is for reference only, and all part numbers should be cross-referenced with an official Honda dealer.

and as for the part number being incorrect? I just checked my actual parts manual that covers all model year MC21's and that's the part # for item 10 (the 68mm snap ring). It lists needing 1 for the rebuild.

I think you were looking for item #11.
94601-15000 Clip Piston pin 15MM . You need four of those.

As for the image being wrong? Nope, that's the correct image for the MC21 (F 2). Are you sure you looked a the correct year/model? You may have been looking at the 1988-1989 (MC18). MC21 1990-1993 has the correct images, as well as part numbers per the actual manual.

Foolishly I looked at the mc28 page, the 18 and 21 are correct.

The (mc28) pic labels part 9 as the snap ring, part 10 as the piston clip and has no part 11 but the text says;

9 91301-KV3-771 O ring 60.7x1 1 1 1 1 1 1
10 94560-68200 Ring Snap 68MM 1 1 1 1 1 1
11 94601-15000 Clip Piston pin 15MM 4 4 4 4 4 4

So, quick glace, part 10 (piston clip) part number is 94560-68200 which is what I ordered.

I was on the phone with a friend going over a parts order looking at our manuals and this sites on line parts manual when we noticed the parts numbers and pic numbers to be off.

If you go to the MC28 stuff "stickers J15" number 12 is supposed to be the "color code" label but it's listed as "mark drive caution" with the part number listed for that really is the fuel tank decal. It looks like they are off by one line or something.

If I remember right it's the same in the other parts area of the 28 as well.

Not complaining dude it's a valuable resource but it's a good thing we had the manuals in hand.

Ah, the MC28... ye, I hired a couple monkeys from he zoo to do that manual. I'll have to go back to the zoo keeper to get some of my money back as those little bastids made some mistakes. That and threw there own crap all over the place!

Thanks Fonty for point that out. I'm actually not sure if I worked on the 28 manual or if Andy did. I know I worked on the 21 manual and Andy did the 18 manual. maybe he did the 16 manual as well and I did the 28 manual. Damn, I can't remember but I'll look into fixing this mistake.

thanks
