MC21 MC28 Middle Crank Bearing

Mon Aug 27, 2007 2:06 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi...

I recently bought from a (known to all of us – I won’t tell who…) internet site a middle bearing to rebuild my crank... It cost me 57 euros or 39 GBP if you like, without the shipping cost... Along with the bearing the guy sent me also a genuine Honda o-ring for the bearing... The o-ring was included in the price of the 57 euros... This o-ring costs 1,5 euros in my local Honda dealer when i cheked it later…
When I received the bearing I checked the box and found out that this guy had erase the Koyo part number from the box... So if I wanted to buy another I couldn't...
I was very curious then, if my local Koyo Seiko dealer was able to supply me with these kinds of bearings... Ten minutes later I was there. A nice lady was checking the bearing to see if she could supply me with additional quantity if I wanted...
Her answer...Of cource Michael, she told me… We have tons of that kind of bearing... and they cost 24 euros each ( 16 GBP )....!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also I can supply you with the side bearings of your crank if you like she said...
I am writing all these because I want to help other people not to fall in the same situation like I did...It's a shame to let people take advantage of us because we just want to keep these machines running...
If some one wants bearings for his crank and can't find, please e-mail me and I will be happy to buy them for him and send them to him...I won't be charge anything more but the exact price they cost plus shipping...
Michael - Greece

P.S. - The Honda part mumber of the oring is : 91301-KV3-771

Thanks for this Michael.
I was going to do the same thing myself as I`ve also bought some of the bearings from the "internet man".
I didn`t get round to it yet.

In 2001k I bought one left hand bearing, from a guy called Simon on the old list (his last one) .
I then contacted 8 Koyo dealers around Europe and found the right hand bearings in Sweden only and bought two for 120USD , and used one for a crank. At that time nobody could find the middle bearing.

In 2004 I think , there was another greek who found the bearings but I never got the ones I asked for.

For the few, here are the F3 numbers that Matt came up with on the old list
F3
Left - KOYO 83B569DA
Centre - KOYO 83B915L (L crossed out and GB engraved)
Right - NTN EC-SC 06A91 NC3 (C3 crossed out and C542 engraved)

He had the MC28 middle bearing as :83C137A

can i assume the f3 part numbers are no good for a standard mc21 crank ?

i am badly needing the outer bearings to get my mc21 motor rebuilt. can anyone recommend a supplier ?
cheers

richie.

Depending what year F3 bearing you get some have a locating pin, some dont. Depending which of these you get, some will fit, some wont.
