any one know much about temp gauges? mine moves a little when i turn the ignition on(so i presume there's power going to it) but after that it fails to move out of the first white block at the begining of the gauge.
any ideas where to start?? Sad

If its not that, start by checking the feed to and from the gauge. if you have feed through the gauge check for feed at the sender end of the wire.

just had a thought ,but considering the other stuff thats been messed about with on my bike, there could be chance that the thermostats been removed, will that affect the time it takes for the bike to build up any heat??

Yes, it'll take much longer, but will still register. Have a look where the stat goes and check that the wire is attached to the sender.

im having a similiar problem with my mc21, just wondering is the sender found on the clutch side of the radiator?

my rad did have a heap of gunk (looks abit like rust too - will try and get some pics) in it though which i've flushed out with water, refilled with demineralised water... and will flush out that again until it clears up

could be possible that the sender is fouled, but the bike operates fine though, and doesnt seem to be overheating

*did have a quick look behind the gauge this morning, and noticed that the wires run in to the main loom, just not sure where it goes to though.

Nope left hand side. On the thermostat housing, tucked away in the upper forward curve of the frame where the front engine bar joins the main spars.

Have a look in the parts catalogue.
