Vin Number to Model

Hi guys,

My first post on the forum, so Hi to all! Smile

I have just bought an NSR250 MC21 and I am trying to figure out what model I have. I see this has been discussed before but i think i am missing something, so sorry for the noob question.

According to the parts manual on this site the R7L is for Vins 1000001~1024051.

But the R8L-3 covers Vins 1014681~1016711. Which encompasses the same range as the R7L.

Am i missing something? How do i know which model it is if the vins fall into 2 models.

Also, is there a reason why on some models the vin number details second number is black font on a black background so you can see it? e.g NSR250R8L-3. I checked on IE and Firefox.
