I just got my MC21 and opened her up when I found that the previous owner had a M-Max box installed...
So I searched the forums and found that the M-Max box didn't do the 2nd wire splice to the GPS...so "rip out the box like everyone says and do the 2 wire splices " is what i thought...
however, the "Tuning section" says this in regards to the top gears and the GPS splice:
G.P.S. splices have already been performed to 1st gear to utilise the PGM-III's most aggressive ignition curve, but NSR-WORLD.COM strongly advises against this. The advanced ignition in the top gears is seriously likely to cause detonation, the quickest killer of 2-stroke engines!!
Now I'm confused...if I perform the 2nd splice to get the advanced ignition curve to the top gears would be at risk of detonating my engine faster? Or is this just a disclaimer...where all I have to do is keep the bike properly oiled and I'll be ok?
My bike is going to be mainly on the street as a daily commuter...
Thanks!
