I'm having a bit of trouble with my carbs leaking gas when it stops on my MC21.
To start with the fuel tap won't close off and the carbs just keep pumping out the gas.
I've had the bowls off and have check that the floats shut of the fuel when they come up and I will be taking them off again to triple check that they are but I just thought I would pick your guys brains to see if there is anything else I should be looking for or maybe a problem that can cause this???
Do you guys know of anything I can do to fix the fuel tap?? Or is a case of replace the problem??
Cause if that was doing it's job the carbs wouldn't have a chance to push me to the edge of a breakdown......
the float isnt/shouldnt be the problem here (yes, even with it not shutting off). THe floats are meant to "stop" fuel from flowing into the bowls from the gravity feed fuel system.
I would recheck the floats, and make sure the valve set (the spring loaded pin that controls the float action) is still good. The fuel should come up, and the float should rise up freely till it shuts off the fuel on it's own. If the float doesn't move freely, that would allow fuel to keep coming into the bowls and over filling. _________________ Charles Gallant
