Hi Guys, just found this great site I would very much like to reserect a predacessor to the nsr, my mvx 250. My bike has 22,000km on it and is in very original condition, however you guessed it... the engine was seized. Everyone I have talked to about mvxs either seized one or know someone who did seize one it seems. It hink the bike is only in good condition because the engine seized and it has been in storage for the past 13 years!
My engine is ready to be reassembled apart from the internal crankseals(approxiamtely 7mm thick with two sealing ridges on them). It appears in hondas wisdom they did not sell crankseals seperately only complete crankshaft assemblies which I would expect there are very few if any left in the world. It's been about 15 years since I have seen one on the road here in new Zealand, although we do have alot of nsr's, kri and rgv's from Japan.
I would like to draw on the wisdom of the members to see if anyone can help me ressurect my pride and joy. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Does anyone have any tips to prevent it seizing if i do mange to get the motor back together? Cheers Dave.
