maybe best to drain and flush the gearbox first? see if any metal parts drop out.. then refill with a good quality gear oil... when was the last time you changed it?

or maybe thats not a good idea and try to source a used gearbox or parts to rebuild it

heres an example on the price of parts, keep in mind it is in AUD.

Seems coincidental having just replaced the oil? Did you check the oil when you changed it?

Yes the bike should be upright when checking the oil level.

If it was fine before you changed the oil and not now, I wonder if something fell in there whilst the cap was off. Did you use fresh oil from a seled container?

(A dumb question I know, but worth asking all the same)
