6'4'' Too Big for an NSR250?

Sat Nov 08, 2008 12:38 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Firstly hi I'm new on here,

Secondly I'm seriously taken with the idea of buying one of these lovely little bikes.... just concerned that at 6'4'' (weighing 86kg) I won't fit...

My road bike is a 749s Ducati that I've riden to Spain and also the south of France (where I currently live) so i'm used to a little discomfort.

Is it a rediculous notion or are there tall poeple out and about riding these bikes?

I'd be after a track day bike with a budget of around £1500....

Thanks for any wisdom

Chris

6'1" and 88kg here. I fit OK too, although I have cramped up a little once or twice on longer rides. I do have aftermarket rear-sets fitted too though. (Last time was 2/3 of the way through a 240 miler! I Expect most people won't ride one further than about 60 miles at a time!)

Fontyyy's a similar size (although somewhat lighter these days) and successfully races an MC28.

I fitted some Harris clip-on's which moved the bars forward about 35mm and adapted some Tyga rear sets which moved the pegs back and down aprox 30mm .

Doesn't sound much or turn the NSR into a Goldwing but does make quite a difference . Thought I might try making up a seat pad as well to raise the height an inch or so.

I'm 6'4'' and 100kg.
