Motorcycle world

Thu Oct 23, 2008 8:03 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Got a letter from Beaulieu today informing me that they will not be holding the motorcycle world event next year. They are citing the poor weather, recession and cost of meeting Health and safety regs.
Sorry boys, but alas i won't be organising any events for next year.

Lets hope this is not the first of many bike events to hit the rocks next year.

Thats a shame Jeff, given we had such a good NSR turnout this year and bigger plans for next year. I guess less stress now for you though! I wonder if there are any other bike events in the country where an NSR-World stand could attend, I'll have a think.

Does seen a shame, as I do enjoy meeting everyone and showing off a few bikes. I can understand a little as it seems the event has been getting smaller and smaller.....not sure why?

I thought the idea to hold a large two-stroke tent with all the other clubs, RGV, TZ, etc was a good idea and would create alot of interest. Perhaps another show will come up.

Big thanks to Jeff for organising it over the past few years, and cheers for manning the BBQ, whilst we all drink all your beer in the living room!!

I was at the Stafford show as well Nigel, which I really enjoyed, should have put a post on the forum before the event to see if anyone else was attending.

There are 2 of these type of shows at Stafford, in April & October.
Something similar, but on a smaller scale in Bristol (Feb) and Uttoxeter (July). Diffrent Strokers usually attend every one. I'm sure we could also get an NSR-World stand going at one of these shows.

Something else to consider, maybe for 2010 as 09 booking deadline is looming - Mallory Park Festival of 1000 Bikes. Also in July, its dedicated mainly to Classic Racing (80's and earlier), but they have an 'Avenue of Clubs', the RC30 owners club were there this year, which suggests the NSR would also be a suitable marque. And if arranged early enough, actual track sessions can be reserved Cool

So a few options for an 'annual gathering' of NSR's.

I'll try to make some progress on this and report back.........

Yeah, we'll be at Bristol in Feb 2009, Uttoxeter in July and Stafford in October, maybe more. By the way, the April Stafford show is a bit too classic for us, but it's slowly heading in the right direction !

We're happy to try and help any NSR owners who want to show their bikes off. We've had MC11's, 21's and 28's on display in the past as well as MVX's, NS400R's and NSR50/80's. Just trying to do our bit for ALL the 2-stroke enthusiasts.

We're not trying to compete with NSR-World (or any of the other specialist clubs), we like to mix up bikes from all the manufacturers and show 'em off together. If we know someone's planning a particular theme, we'll try and do something else. At Stafford last month, we helped out the RGV250.CO.UK boys by doing this (click pic for bigger version) :

Works both ways too. We'll be happy to put our bikes on an NSR-World stand if you want 'em sometime. Cool
