is it possible to change the HT leads without replacing the coils??

Mine are sealed at the coil

I guess you could try a heated glue gun, but moisture and coils aren't a good combination

I checked the part nos on Lings

front coil discontinued, but 2J/4J superceeded to 30500VM0000

rear coil superceeded to 30510MK4405

Both were around £40

cor! bit pricey like! read on another site that arrow scooters use the same coil......... what the hells an arrow scooter?
any body know of any other alternatives?

When I put the 300 kit on my MC18 I needed to put longer leads on the coils. A friend X-rayed one of them and found it to be a normal coil - lead setup. There is a spike that comes out of the coil and the lead gets impaled on that to make the connection. The kicker is that the lead is very securely potted into the coil housing. It took much digging and scraping to get the old lead out and the socket clean enough to put the new lead in. I used RTV silicone to hold the new lead in. It turned out very well.

well i cut the old leads off and dug out the screw on connector and put on new leads an she's running alot better now! took all of 10mins.
result!
