fitting MC28 rear to MC21

Sat Jan 03, 2009 8:16 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have read that a stock OEM MC28 rear seat cowling needs to be modified to fit on an MC21 - something about it not fitting flush with the MC21 tank. Can anyone in the know tell me what the issue is and what needs to be done to make it fit properly?
Thanks.

The MC28 seat unit is longer than the MC21 seat, and fits snug to the frame. The front lower mounts, and also the prongs that press into the lugs on the tank, are in different places on the two bikes.

You can cut the prongs off the MC28 seat (or fit an MC28 tank!), and possibly get some spacers from TYGA like the ones they supply with their GP500 seat unit to secure the bottom mounts.
