sorry i posted by accident there below and cant delete it coz i wasnt logged in!
i live in dublin and am looiking to pick up an mc28 nsr250 se or sp mid next year
what do u guys reckon are my chances of pickin up a nice example, i will definitely need to look abroad
also on the mc28 do you just need any of the 3 hrc cards and the wire splice to properly derestrict it? my intention is to get the tyga 300cc kit for it
i will have to sell my rvf to fund this but i reckon it will be worth it Very Happy

AFAIK, the Mc28 needs much more than just the card and splice to properly de-restrict it.

Andy?

Oh yes... it'll definitely be worth it! ;)

You don't have to have the HRC card, but I'd recommend it. You will also need a set of race pipes to fully exploit the MC28 - it has the heaviest and most restrictive pipes of all the NSR's!

The MC28's generally make less hp per £ than the other models, and weigh a little more too, but it is superb engineering! Sensible money goes on an MC21 in my opinion. What you save on the initial purchase goes a lot further when you start to tune. The MC21 is considerably easier/cheaper to get the power out of.

Horses for courses really; that PGM-IV & swipe-card and Pro-Arm are just works of art, but the MC28 can still command too much money for what you get.

If we can find you one in Southern England nearer the time, I may be persuaded to ferry it across to you! I've been looking for an excuse to visit Dublin for a weekend in the summer!!

Has anyone ever upgraded an MC21 to the 28 card and PGM? Would that slow it down?

Matt TYGA has done an MC21/28 hybrid, but I think that was a '21 PGM -III ignition and a '28 PGM-IV RC Valve circuit.

Don't get me wrong, the MC28 can make great power, but it's harder and more expensive than getting it out of an MC21.

And... Dublin it is then!! Very Happy Don't know when, but it's a definite maybe!!
